It’s a pretty simple post really, just an update on the book(s) I’m currently reading, what I plan to start next and any book(s) I’m waiting for or wanting to buy that month! What I’m Currently Reading
The City of Brass by S.A Chakraborty
I’m really enjoying The City of Brass and it’s currently on track to be the first book I’ll have finished this year! I know what you’re thinking… Jordan, it’s JULY! How have you still not finished a book yet? Well, pregnancy is weird (oh yeah, I’m pregnant! Surprise! *Throws confetti*) and it really messed with my concentration, so I’m finding it difficult to pick a book and stick with it. However I’m 328/526 pages in and plan to finish by the time this blog post goes live! So stay tuned for a review of this one.
From Blood and Ash by Jennifer L. Armentrout
I’m not as far into this one quite yet, only page 137/613 and this is my second attempt at reading this book. The first time I got a free sample on my kindle and didn’t really have any desire to continue on with it, however with the recent love and popularity this book has gained, I thought I’d give it another shot. According to my Goodreads, I started reading this book three months ago, so we’ll have to see how long it takes me to finish!
The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue by V.E. Schwab
I’m not sure if I can class this one as currently reading to be honest, or if that would be cheating, since I’m only 14 pages in and started it three months ago. Like I said earlier in the post, I’m really struggling to pick up a book and just stick with it. However this is super high up on my want to read list since I adore Schwab and she’s by far one of my favourite authors. I really hope I’ll love it!
I’m hoping to have these three all done and dusted by the end of July, but with my current track record I’ll be lucky to finish these by the end of the year! Plus my daughter is due in August so we’ll have to see how I get on with all of that too.
What I Plan To Read Next
These are the three books I’d like to read next, however the next few months are going to be very busy and chaotic so I’m not putting too much pressure on myself. Don’t be worried if I disappear a little bit too, I don’t plan to stop blogging but I can’t imagine I’ll have tons of spare time (where I’m not using it to sleep) for the first couple of months.

Witchshadow by Susan Dennard
I’m super excited that the fourth book in the Witchlands series is here! Although I’m actually still yet to read the novella, Sightwitch, and the third book, Bloodwitch (I have a feeling this one will be my favourite). I hate having to wait years for books to release, especially when it’s like a 5-7 book series. So I decided to hold off on completing this one until more books are out! I might have to re-read the first two when I actually decide to read the rest though!
And that’s a wrap! Not too much going on in my world of reading right now, as you can see. I do hope to finish some books this year though, however I have zero idea how difficult it’s going to be with a newborn baby to look after, so we shall see! I hope you’re all doing fantastic and that you’ve read some amazing books this year!
