To Read… Or Not To Read?

Welcome to my weekly TBR clear-down! In this post I’m going to review my Goodreads shelves, and my shelves at home, and reduce the amount of books on my TBR. I did something very similar to this a while back and found it useful to go waaaay back to the beginning of my shelves and cull any books I no longer wanted to read! I think as book lovers we often get a little carried away and want to read all the books, so we end up with mountainous ‘to read’ piles that have no end in sight!

The Iron King (The Iron Fay, #1) by Julie Kagawa

First of all, this cover is GORGEOUS. It is a pretty old one and was published in 2010! I feel SO OLD! Don’t worry though, if this is a book you want to read – the new cover is even better! I don’t think I’ll be keeping this book on my shelves however pretty it looks. I just don’t think I’d enjoy it as much as I would have if I had read it back when it was released? And the older I’m getting the less and less likely I think I’ll like it. Have you read this one recently? What did you think?

Cruel Beauty by Rosamund Hodge

After re-reading the synopsis for this one, I think it has to stay! I’m a huge sucker for enemies to lovers and this one sounds right up my street. Fingers crossed it’s a good one! I’d probably only get the E-book version of this one because my shelf space is super limited at the moment and it’s not high enough on my TBR to push me to buy the physical copy. However the cover is quite pretty.

The Gathering (Darkness Rising, #1) by Kelley Armstrong

Another that will be staying on my TBR. I haven’t read anything from Kelley Armstrong before but I think I’m going to like this one. I do like my heroines a bit snarky and from the reviews it looks like this will hopefully be my cup of tea! I don’t actually own this book, so it’ll probably be another E-book version.

Days of Blood and Starlight (Daughter of Smoke and Bone, #2) by Laini Taylor

Ahh, how have I not finished this trilogy yet? I do kind of remember reading the first book, and what happened, but it has been a long time. So I’ll have to do a re-read of the first book and then finish off the trilogy! This may be something I’ll have to add to my Reading Journal so I know which series I need to re-read/finish and I can work on completing some of those! I’ll be keeping DoBaS on my TBR.

Nimona by Noelle Stevenson

I don’t generally read a lot of graphic novels, honestly I think the only ones I have read are the Wires and Nerve books. However this book sounds really fun, and interesting, so I’d definitely like to give it a go and add it to my collection! It has some really great Goodreads reviews from friends and randoms too, so I have high hopes that I’ll enjoy it!

And that’s it for this week! Out of the five books listed I’ve removed one from my TBR… So not a lot, but it’s something, right? Who knew taking books off my TBR list would be so hard! Have you read any of the books I’ve listed here? What are your suggestions I read/don’t read from these?
