Hi friends, welcome to this seriously late Top Ten Tuesday post! Interested in joining in the fun? Find out how at The Broke and the Bookish. So I can’t even remember what week this TTT was due for but here we go, we were tasked with revealing our favourite reads of 2017, I honestly haven’t read as much this year and wish I could have read more. I have so many books at home on my shelves that I can’t wait to get stuck into, I just haven’t found the time yet, if only I didn’t have to work and I could just read all day, or be paid to read all day…
This book was mainly a cover buy, I’ve never seen a dust jacket so pretty in my life and I just had to own it! It sounded good too but I didn’t know if I’d love it or just like it when I first bought Vengeance Road. Turns out I LOVE IT. The story was so… gritty and I adored the way it was written, it literally made you feel like you were in a western.
Wonder Woman: Warbringer
I loved this one so much, I’m not a Wonder Woman fan, well at least I wasn’t until I read this book, I’d never watched anything with Wonder Woman in and honestly didn’t know all that much about her. Warbringer changed all that, it was so good and had such amazing, empowering friendships!
Alright you guys are going to see a lot of me talking about Red Rising and the whole Red Rising series because seriously I’m in love. Violent, gritty, heartbreaking. If you haven’t picked up this series yet I have no idea what you’re waiting for but I urge you to start reading these books!
The Hating Game
I really enjoyed The Hating Game, I know a few people didn’t really like it, maybe thought it was a little silly, but personally that didn’t bother me at all, I thought it was funny and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Our Dark Duet
MY FREAKING HEART, SCHWAB. Anyone who knows me knows I love Schwab’s books, I think the only one I haven’t read yet it Viscous but that’s on my TBR and I’ll get to it! Anyway yes, I adore Schwab’s books and Our Dark Duet was no different!
I remember when this first came out in the U.K. and there were five different editions to get and I wanted to get them all (I didn’t, I only got two of them). Thankfully I loved Caraval so it’s all good. I really liked that I had absolutely no idea what was happening and when I thought I knew what was going on I’d be so wrong! It was a wild ride.
A Conjuring of Light
Schwab breaking my heart again with this one! Seriously I love her books, the characters she creates and the way I instantly love them, it’s an amazing talent!
The Bone Season
There are so many reasons why this book and series (so far) is one of my favourites of 2017. One being Warden, of course, another reason is Paige, because she’s awesome and kickass but most of all I can’t get enough of the world Samantha Shannon has created, complex and so incredible!
I kept seeing this book on bookstagram quite a bit and loved the look of it, if I remember correctly I didn’t actually know anything about this book when I bought it and I dived straight in without knowing much too. As you can see it made an impact and is now being featured on my top books of 2017!
Daughter of the Pirate King
This book is probably in my top five of 2017 to be honest, there just isn’t enough books about pirates out there and this one was amazing! I loved the story, the characters and the cover! Go read it people!
And there we have my top books of 2017! Any of these features in your top books of 2017? Or are there any here on your TBR?
